About
Welcome to Mignon Steak Vieux-Montréal, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Old Montreal. Located at 101 Saint-Paul St W, this intimate eatery is the embodiment of fine dining with a cozy touch. As you step inside, you'll be greeted by an inviting atmosphere, blending warm decor with the tantalizing aromas of expertly cooked dishes.
Mignon specializes in juicy, tender mignon steaks that leave diners raving about their melt-in-your-mouth quality. One delighted patron, Bikram Singh, described the steak as "great" and "very soft and tender," highlighting its rich flavor, complemented by a delightful sauce. But it's not just the steaks that shine here; the fries have garnered unexpected praise as “the best in town,” proving that even the sides at Mignon deserve their moment in the spotlight.
The menu also features fresh oysters served with a zesty mignonette and peppery sauce—a perfect starter that sets the tone for your dining experience. For those looking to indulge further, the burrata and mac and cheese come highly recommended, though some might suggest a pinch more salt to elevate the flavors even more.
Not to be overlooked is the Negroni lounge located in the basement, which offers an inviting space for cocktails and conversation, making it an ideal spot for groups. Grace Hyeri Chung Ji's experience reflects the attraction of Mignon, where the food is consistently delicious, even if the service can sometimes lag in the busy dining atmosphere.
As you peruse the menu, don’t miss out on the juicy burgers and the refreshing melon martini that have also won over many taste buds. Each dish is crafted with care, ensuring that every bite is a celebration of flavor, as noted by Charles Laurent—a strong endorsement for any food lover visiting Montreal.
Mignon Steak Vieux-Montréal is not just a restaurant; it's a memorable dining experience waiting to unfold. Whether you're aiming for a romantic evening or a gathering with friends, this hidden jewel promises culinary delight that will have you returning for more.
“ Great mignon steak, very soft and tender, great sauce, surprisingly the fries were much better then I thought. Very flavourful. The machine and cheese is very nice to try. Would recommend to come with a group. The basement is the Negroni lounge. Very comfortable seating, nice atmosphere no photo of the steak cause it's too good to leave anything left ordered a martini too. Very nicely done. ”
“ Delicious fresh oysters served with a mignonette and a peppery sauce. Burrata was tasty but the dish might need just a bit more salt. Best fries in town. Steak is served uncut unlike the other Mignon. Sauce is not as spectacular as the other Mignon. Great burger. Highly recommend trying the melon martini ”
“ Food was amazing. My husband and I found this place after we visited Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal (right around the corner). It was at the right price range, and the menu was looking sharp. It is located at the most busiest place, so it makes sense that the wait is long and the service can be delayed however, we waited for our food for a very long time. The table that came much later than us got their food way before us. We ordered the same thing. We had to wait a long time to get attention from a server as well. I noticed that there was a missed order or some sort that the server was walking around back and forth with a plate of fries. Then, he came back out and gave it to a table who just got their table. It was a nice family with a young kid ;) so it was nice to see that. Yes, I was waiting for my food for so long, I saw everything! But still, the food was good. I was able to switch off the side of fries to greens. Very delicious. Don't get me wrong, the fries were great too. It's a tight space so be cautious around other people. Especially with big bags and coats. ”
“ cozy atmosphere & warm decor Delicious i loved the pepper sauce that arrived with my filet mignon. I am very satisfied and thrilled to have found this gem. I highly recommend Mignon Stake to anyone looking for a great dining experience. I can't wait to return! ”

Mignon is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner, a special occasion, or simply treating yourself to an unforgettable meal. If you’re in Montreal, this is a must-visit destination for food lovers. ”
“ We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday here, and the food, server, and ambiance did not disappoint. We were seated in the lower level which had a dim-lighting, cozy vibe. We ordered the table d'hote which included soup/salad, steak & fries, and dessert. Absolutely delicious and worth it! Our server Antoine was attentive and regularly checked in with us. A good place to check out and eat in Old Montreal. ”
“ Came on a Monday early evening, not too busy which was nice. The filet mignon steak frites were delicious, perfectly cooked. The oysters for 1 between 5-7pm with a purchase of a drink was a great deal. Very fresh. One of my favourite meals on our trip to Montreal so far. ”
“ Enjoyed my dinner... I ordered the steak frites with a salad...cooked medium...and it was absolutely perfect!!! We didn't feel rushed at all...we were able to relax...and order a few glasses of wine prior to placing a dinner order... The wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful!!! Will definitely revisit if in Montreal again!!! ”
